on all the time. You can't taste it it just chews right into the gum.[[2007 (UTC) SIGNING WITH FOUR TILDES FOR WQIKIPEDIA

Well, that seems a little silly. 71.146.35.95 05:59, 28 February 2007 (UTC)[reply]
That is a little silly. It isn't recommended by the company because the wrapper is paper and can be consumed like any other piece of paper. So, I'm removing this myth from the page. Psyklic 06:01, 1 June 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Not sure, but where does the year 1899 come from? Pretty obvious this may not be right. "In the UK, where it was launched in 1899[2] it was originally sold as a traditional long-stick gum, later replaced by the same format as the US." — Preceding unsigned comment added by 193.159.191.3 (talk) 11:54, 17 October 2018 (UTC)[reply]

Flavours, etc.[edit]

  • I added qualifiers to the flavours and ingredients details; it's not clear which markets they apply to (hence this is not mentioned), but it seems to be the US. As I mentioned elsewhere, these things vary in different countries, so the article was kind of misleading beforehand.

FWIW, I'm not convinced that we need a complete list of ingredients anyway, but I left it in for now.

  • Good idea. I rather like including the ingredients. We've also done it on the altoids page. I think it should be done more often on food pages. It's interesting to see how the ingredients differ from flavor to flavor, etcand might be interesting to track changes over time or across markets, if/when the formulation changes. -Bindingtheory 18:17, 10 June 2006 (UTC)[reply]
  • Perhaps; you have to make clear which versions of the product these apply to, however. At present, it's not even clear which flavours apply to which market, let alone which market the ingredients lists apply to. These sort of things *will* vary across the world, if nothing else because of the different regulations regarding sweeteners and additives. As I've said, I *assume* that Fourohfour 19:20, 10 June 2006 (UTC)[reply]
  • You're right. I hadn't actually realized how much even simple things like packaging vary from place to products/products_orbit.asp] and the UK Orbit [1]. I'm working on an update to more accurately reflect the variation between countries/markets, which I hope to have up soon. Does anyone from the UK have any Orbit packs around and can get ingredient lists from them? -Bindingtheory 22:58, 13 June 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Commercial[edit]

In the recent commercial with Snoop, it occurred to me while watching, 'all dogs go to heaven' (Snoop Dogg) and the 'sheep go go heaven, goats go to hell' (a goat randomly pops up by the dog bowl). Not sure if :Wirbelwind|Wirbelwind]] 02:47, 27 June 2006 (UTC)

Orbit released in the late '70s in North America[edit]

While Orbit can be considered new in North America, I remember buying it in the late 70s. Advertising had in standard 5 stick packs. So technically, Orbit was relaunched in 2001 in North America. Anyone else remember this? --Navstar 17:19, 2 September 2006 (UTC)[reply]

I remember buying Orbit gum in the 1970s, in sorbitol as a sweetener. =Axlq 01:49, 1 October 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Yes, I remember it. Here is a TV commercial from that era. Why is it that so many people can edit a wikipedia page and not know this kind of stuff?--Drvanthorp (talk) 01:23, 7 June 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Favorite Flavor?[edit]

List your favorite flavor, why, and your name or surname

1.Magnumxl of warcraft 3 us east.I'll start by saying that my favorite flavor is probably Cinnamint because its so strong and refreshing, my probably be citrusmint and i still havent tried lemon-lime —Preceding unsigned comment added by 67.175.124.18 (talkcontribs) 22:18, 18 October 2006 (UTC)[reply]

2.N*gga John us east. I'll continue by saying that my fav flav is hard to choose. I think the orange & lemon flavs are really good, as is the raspberry, but they don't last long enough, & raspberry actually flavors. SO my favorite is simply the original peppermint. (dark blue) I wish there was chocolatemint —Preceding unsigned comment added by 68.83.245.232 (talkcontribs) 18:19, 25 February 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Definitely the Mojito Mint. The store I generally buy my gum from doesn't carry that one anymore :( —Preceding unsigned comment added by 63.73.199.69 (talk) 21:09, 12 January 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Crsip Mint Waterfall. Only ever had it once and since then, I have been unable to find another pack. 98.109.251.158 (talk) 00:04, 14 March 2011 (UTC)[reply]
