Untitled[edit]

Hi,

I work with Samsung and can’t make these edits due to my COI. Can someone help?

  • Add logo to Infobox
    • I can upload to Wikimedia
  • Add key people to Infobox
    • Young Sohn
  • Add a subsection, under History, called Samsung Catalyst Fund
    • Move “As part of that effort, Samsung also launched the Samsung Catalyst Fund, a multi-stage venture capital fund that operates with SSIC to expand Samsung's mobile, device solutions and consumer electronics groups.” to that new section and rewrite the opening to read “In February 2013, Samsung launched…”
    • Add “The fund invests globally in data economy and strategic ideas for Samsung’s mobile, device solutions and consumer electronics groups, with investments in companies specializing in automotive, robotics, digital health, internet of things, artificial intelligence, cloud infrastructure, and device-level solutions.”
  • Add “Alongside capital, the $100M Fund provides manufacturing and distribution, domain expertise, recruiting, and advice and mentorship.

The firm’s headquarters are located in Menlo Park, California, with additional offices in Berlin, New York, Seoul, Tel Aviv, and Paris.”

Hi again LeannaTruong
I made the Person update
Send me the Commons link when you upload the logo and I'll add.
As for Samsung Catalyst Fund...that's a LOT--and I'm not sure it really fits under Samsung Strategy and Innovation Center per se; at least from reading their site, it looks more like its a part of Samsung (but also kinda independent--tell me if I'm reading that wrong). I think it might be better for it to be its own page, especially given all you've written. The whole VC space on Wikipedia is garbage and I've been itching to get around to it, so I can try a draft based on what you wrote.
Any other editors feel differently? I'm worried it would be WP:Coatracking on this page.

Thank you,FeldBum!
If you think it's better to have it's own page. I agree. There's other information I wanted to add as well, can we add the below if we're making a separate page?
Hi LeannaTruong (assuming that's you),
Let me take a shot on my sandbox
Quick note: That globalcorporateventuring site won't work as a source for a Global Corporate Venturing accolade, since its a secondary source, not a third-party source. But I can take a look at cites.
Feel free to bug me to see where I'm at.

Thank you,FeldBum!
I'd like to also share the SSIC wiki page does not have an existing logo so would be it possible to use the generic Samsung logo that already exists?
I'll keep you posted if I find any additional sources to replace globalcorporateventuring

Hi again,FeldBum!
I found a new source to replace globalcorporateventuring, will this work? https://telanganatoday.com/5-indians-among-top-25-venture-capitalists-in-gcv-powerlist
Were you able to add the general Samsung logo easily as well?
--LeannaTruong 9:32, 9 April 2021 (UTC)
Hi LeannaTruong,
That source works, but I'll use it for the separate draft.
I added the Samsung logo. I think that works in the absence of a dedicated logo.

Hi again,FeldBum! just checking in to see if you started that draft yet or if you needed any help from me for it.

While you work on that, can you do a few more edits to Young Sohn’s page?

I’ll leave you a message too. --LeannaTruong 9:56, 19 April 2021 (UTC)

See my message on your talk page. GSS💬 16:11, 19 April 2021 (UTC)[reply]
@LeannaTruong: put a page live for Samsung Catalyst Fund based on the above edit request. I'll link it here. Let me know on the Talk page there if I missed anything. --FeldBum (talk) 17:31, 11 June 2021 (UTC)[reply]
