Merger proposal[edit]

I would like to propose that Stengah is merged into this article Scotch and soda (cocktail). The term 'stengah' is highly specialised, borderline obscure even, and may not be notable enough to warrant a separate article. Also, the concept of 'stengah' can easily be explained in the context of this more general 'Scotch and soda' article. A redirect would naturally be added pointing to the merged content. (Arguably someone could in time create an even more general article on 'whisky and soda', into which both these existing articles could and should then be merged, but that's a different topic, probably for another day...) • What I propose instead is the following:
      • Merge all the whisky and soda into one article
      • rename as "Whisky and Soda (Highball)"

I'd also be happy for one "Whisky and Soda (Highball)", but don't think that it needs the "Highball" qualified, as synonyms just need to listed in the lede; the qualified would only be needed if the title was ambiguous. So, recommend just Whisky and Soda. In the interim, to get this rolling, for the original proposal   checkY Merger complete. Klbrain (talk) 09:01, 20 July 2019 (UTC)[reply]

The cocktail is a clear primary topic. The three other topics with the same name are named after the cocktail (a magic trick, song, and clothing brand), and Google books results all overwhelmingly are about the cocktail. And Page views are overwhelmingly for the cocktail, dwarfing the three other topics and the disambiguation page.Yaksar (let's chat) 20:13, 9 July 2020 (UTC)[reply]

  • Support, clear primary topic. All the other meanings are named after the cocktail. JIP | Talk 00:00, 10 July 2020 (UTC)[reply]
  • Support precisely per nom. BD2412 T 03:00, 11 July 2020 (UTC)[reply]
  • Support. Clear primary topic over the magic trick. Other uses are capitalized anyway. Station1 (talk) 00:25, 12 July 2020 (UTC)[reply]
