Images[edit]

This article has gotten much better. Two glaring omissions: -images: of course most will be copyrighted, but some fair use can be justified here. -references: this may be harder. Maybe some reviews of play can be found or something on the comics in the Comics Journal.

A paragraph of plot might help. If I can get around to re-reading this stuff, maybe I can contribute here, but summarizing the plot in a few sentences seems difficult!

Does anyone know about some Galactic Girl Guides stories printed as backup stories in the Rocketter?

ike9898 22:37, 14 December 2005 (UTC) I am curretly collecting as much of the StarStruck Material that is available. I have the Play, The Graphic Novel, The Marvel/Epic issues 1-6 and The 1990 Darkhorse isues 1-4. The Darkhorse issues are nice in that they have previously unknown material and backstory, but they are all black and white. I am investigating the Girl guide strips- I have purchased but not yet recieved the Comico Rocketeer #1 and #2 that have Galactic Girl Guide strips and have been trying to find the "Castle Waiting" strips by Linda Medley as there are so many of those issues, it is hard to find which have GGG and which do not. I have written to the publisher but have yet to receive a reply. As soon as I get all of the material together, I hope to arrange it in a more chronographical order, so it will read easier. I have also tried to contact The author Elaine Lee and Michael Kaluta as it is stated that they were going to continue the series in the Marvel/Epic issue#6, and indeed did so but with only 2 Galactic Girl Guide strips 3 years apart. I believe Michael Kaluta and Elaine Lee have enough material for 10-12 30 page issues that has not seen the light of day(for readers)because of backing problems. Which is a shame, as any Hard-core fan such as I would certainly love to see more of all the wonderful and various characters that were developed and brought to life on stage and print. Oh yes, I have also aquired (but yet to recieve)the two Graphic Novels "Skin Tight Orbit" written by Elain Lee and illusrated by Michael Kaluta. I have read there is some StarStruck material in there; we shall see! What is amazing to see is that all the published material that I have aquired so far has cost me no more than-and in some cases less-than when newly released! The play can be bought from Broadway Play Publishing. The Marvel Grapic Novel, the "The Luckless,The Abandoned,And Forsaked" can be obtained through many comic stores online or Amozon.com.Same as for the "Skintight Orbit" books by Elaine Lee. And the many comics you can obtain through carefully culling the list of the many on-line comic stores that exist. Most are very good as to quality of product and shipping times. After reading a Lee/Kaluta interviein in ComicsJournal.com I came to wiki to read more. Whoah, at least the introduction to this article reads like their proud mothers wrote it. No objectivity at all. I have no doubt that the series is well respected (and considering the limited critical arenas for comics, if CJ likes it, that becomes the critical norm), but c'mon. IMO kaluta never really advanced much beyond his fine early Shadow work for DC, and I'll even give him a couple of nods for a few (if not all, or even most) of his STUDIO art, but just glancing at the work on their website doesn't impress me all that much. It seems average early 80s Heavy Metal/Epic illustrated fare, not much more than that. Clearly thought has been put in to it, but I wouldn't consider this TOP NOTCH "sophisticated" comic art. I don't want to use this space for critical discussions, and gave my opinion to illustrate and point out that the Wiki piece reads more like a press release from the publisher than an objective article on the comic. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 71.125.228.64 (talk) 01:13, 22 July 2012 (UTC)[reply]
