Page Created (29 May 2006)[edit]

Originally part of the Pearl Brewery page, it seemed more fitting for the TTC to have its own page. I'll make updates as soon as I get a chance, but won't do much until I can get the time to finish Pearl's history. --Brownings 17:43, 29 May 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Two "Texas Transportation Company" entities[edit]

According to [1], there were two railroads called "Texas Transportation Company" - this one and one chartered in 1866 which was eventually absorbed into the Southern Pacific Railroad empire. This information should be included, perhaps using the Wisconsin Central Railway article as a model (I don't have time to add it right now...). Slambo (Speak) 20:11, 19 June 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Thanks for bringing this up Slambo. Since creating the article I found out about the original TTC and the fact that while named the same they're completely separate companies. Eventually I'll get around to this article and start expanding on it. At the rate I'm going with the Pearl Brewing Company page it may be awhile before I get enough time on my hands to make it over to TTC. Feel free to add anything you wish to the front page though, any help at all is appreciated. --Brownings 20:27, 19 June 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Finally some content (20 Aug 2006)[edit]

I'm no where near done with the Pearl Brewery, but I've got so many good photos of the TXTC engines on my desktop that it's driving me nuts. So, I figured I'd spend some time over here this weekend. Speaking of TXTC, I found that TXTC is actually the reporting name for Texas Transportation Co., instead of the TTC I had used before. I think I've also provided a solution problem of two companies having the name Texas Transportation Co. I created a notice link at the top that tells people looking for the original Texas Trans to visit Texas & New Orleans Railway Company. Bad thing is, there's no page for that company at all. I may start one eventually, or combine both companies here like suggested by Slambo above, but right now there's no way I'm starting in on something like that. My hands are full enough with this page, and especially Pearl. --Brownings 18:23, 20 August 2006 (UTC)[reply]

TXTC in 2007[edit]

You may find it interesting to know that the tracks are still buried in the streets that TXTC used to run on and there are still rails coming out of the street where it connected to the UP main line. --John 20:29, 17 May 2007 (UTC)

That's cool. I did a little checking, and it seems Silver Ventures is planning on replacing most of the track and have it as it ran through the brewery. I doubt they'll actually run any trains on it, but they seem to be into the history of the brewery by paying attention to the details like that. Thanks for the tip. --Brownings 03:35, 18 May 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Fair use rationale for Image:PearlLabelLogo.png[edit]

Image:PearlLabelLogo.png is being used on this article. I notice the image page specifies that the image is being used under fair use but there is no explanation or rationale as to why its use in this Wikipedia article constitutes fair use. In addition to the boilerplate fair use template, you must also write out on the image description page a specific explanation or rationale for why using this image in each article is consistent with fair use.

Please go to the image description page and edit it to include a fair use rationale. Using one of the templates at Wikipedia:Fair use rationale guideline is an easy way to ensure that your image is in compliance with Wikipedia policy, but remember that you must complete the template. Do not simply insert a blank template on an image page.

If there is other fair use media, consider checking that you have specified the fair use rationale on the other images used on this page. Note that any fair use images lacking such an explanation can be deleted one week after being tagged, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you.

The museum streetcar[edit]

Texas Transportation Company#Museum streetcar The Streetcars in New Orleans ran/run on 5 ft 2+12 in (1,588 mm) Pennsylvania trolley gauge. This means that the trucks had to be modified in order to be running on 4 ft 8+12 in (1,435 mm) standard gauge track. This would have been accomplished by a wheel set exchange. Why did they not use second hand standard gauge trucks? Peter Horn User talk 14:42, 9 May 2019 (UTC)[reply]

Speaking as the contributor who wrote that entire section, in 2012, I don't know. The article I cited from Modern Tramway for that info. does not say. And the two other sources I cited for that section (TNERJ and the Andrew Young book) give even less detail, only mentioning regauging but without any detail on how that was accomplished. By the way, as to car 303 (from which unspecified parts were used in restoring 300), MT said it had "survived as a dwelling". SJ Morg (talk) 06:01, 10 May 2019 (UTC)[reply]
