Joanie[edit]

The Series overview ends saying ...featuring a now-adult Joanie Lockhart (Anna Paquin), but no "Joanie" has been previously mentioned, nor is there any explanation for the last name.

Extended content
I tried researching when Joanie was first introduced/mentioned (I haven't seen the show), but found this difficult - it appears she's in custody of others(?) while Alison struggles, and that there's no clean-cut introduction. I can find that her existence is established by the end of season 2 (when her father is revealed), but I'm boldly guessing she gets a mention during season 1.

Feel free to improve. CapnZapp (talk) 18:40, 24 April 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Thank you for your very prompt assistance, Drovethrughosts. (Issue now resolved) CapnZapp (talk) 18:56, 24 April 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Perspective characters[edit]

The perspective characters table feels a bit weird. Why does Allison turn into Joanie and Cole into Janelle? Shouldn't each perspective character have its own line, showing in which seasons they appear? I've seen done that way in other articles. --Kumagoro-42 (talk) 07:18, 27 August 2022 (UTC)[reply]

My feeling was there was no need to utilise so much blank space (and there would be a LOT), when they're just columns of information (unlike the cast table, where each line is associated with one actor). Do you have example of equivalent tables in other articles? U-Mos (talk) 08:13, 27 August 2022 (UTC)[reply]
I also feel it's somewhat weird. I was playing around and here's an alternative version.
Season
1 2 3 4 5
Noah
Alison Does not appear
Does not appear Helen
Does not appear Cole Does not appear
Does not appear Juliette Does not appear
Does not appear Vik Does not appear
Does not appear Joanie
Janelle
Whitney
Sierra

Or, if you want to save some space, you can combine the single-season perspective characters into one row, which I do think works.

Season
1 2 3 4 5
Noah
Alison Does not appear
Does not appear Helen
Does not appear Cole Does not appear
Does not appear Juliette Vik Joanie
Janelle
Whitney
Sierra

Let me know what you think. Drovethrughosts (talk) 12:58, 27 August 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Yes, I like combining the single-season perspectives. Seems curious to have the season 5 perspectives in one cell, though? How about this:
Season
1 2 3 4 5
Noah
Alison Does not appear
Does not appear Helen
Does not appear Cole Does not appear
Does not appear Juliette Vik Joanie
Does not appear Janelle
Does not appear Whitney
Does not appear Sierra

That version looks great! I'm all for that replacing the current version. Drovethrughosts (talk) 11:20, 28 August 2022 (UTC)[reply]
Agree. Kumagoro-42 (talk) 03:35, 29 August 2022 (UTC)[reply]

More on perspective characters[edit]

This is something I had hoped to find in the article, and unfortunately I don't have the time to do it right now: the indication of which perspective is used in which episode, in the episode's synopses. (Possibly with a total count somewhere indicating how many sections each character got). I'll just leave it here, in case someone will pick this up at some point. List of The Affair episodes does this! U-Mos (talk) 18:27, 9 December 2022 (UTC)[reply]

being 64 years old, I am still amazed at all the graphic nudity and sex So I wonder if body doubles were used — Preceding unsigned comment added by 50.245.17.105 (talk) 16:59, 8 December 2022 (UTC)[reply]
