C-9 (Cercanías Madrid)

Line C-9 terminus at Cotos Station
Line C-9 terminus at Cotos Station
  • ... that Line C-9 (pictured) of Madrid's commuter rail network was originally built as a narrow-gauge mountain railway in 1923? "Ferrocarril Eléctrico de Cercedilla al Puerto de Guadarrama (Navacerrada)". Ferrocarriles de España. 6 May 2012. Retrieved 19 November 2019.

  • Article is long enough and has been suitably expanded. The hook fact is not appropriately cited inline. In fact, the wording doesn't say quite the same as the article. The hook says "was originally built as a narrow-gauge mountain railway", the article says "is a narrow-gauge mountain railway". It also only appears in the lead, not in the main body of the article. Some work needed. Harrias talk 11:18, 22 November 2019 (UTC)
@Harrias: NoGhost hasn't been active on-Wiki since the day of the nomination, though I'll be leaving them another ping to return. In the meantime, here's a possible alternate hook, although I'm not sure if it will appeal to non-railway enthusiasts:
ALT1 ... that Line C-9 (pictured) is the only line of Madrid's commuter rail network that uses a metre gauge? Time Out Madrid. Time Out Guides. 2001. p. 277. ISBN 9781846702976.
Another possibility could be the following:
ALT2 ... that although it is classified as a commuter line, Cercanías Madrid's Line C-9 (pictured) primarily serves ski resorts? "Línia Cercedilla - Cotos". Trenscat (in Spanish). Retrieved 2019-11-19. The line is currently part of the Madrid Cercanías network, as the C-9 line ... AND The Cercedilla to Cotos railway line ...
The main issue with both of these proposals is that, just like the original hook, these aren't cited inline, so whatever hook is used, the sourcing issues need to be addressed first. Finally, the QPQ still needs to be finished. Narutolovehinata5 tccsdnew 00:54, 4 December 2019 (UTC)
@Evrik and Harrias: If NoGhost doesn't return to editing soon, I'm willing to donate a QPQ in their stead. Narutolovehinata5 tccsdnew 23:23, 9 December 2019 (UTC)
  • Removing evrik's non-tick; an actual icon should be used, and as the QPQ is lacking at this time, this is the proper icon under the circumstances. BlueMoonset (talk) 05:44, 10 December 2019 (UTC)
As it appears unlikely that NoGhost will be returning to this nomination within a reasonable timeframe, I will be donating my review of Template:Did you know nominations/2019 Chungju World Martial Arts Masterships in their stead. Narutolovehinata5 tccsdnew 13:56, 10 December 2019 (UTC)
  • Hi, I came by to promote this, but the source says nothing about it "primarily being a commuter line". I moved the cite next to the attributed text, that it serves the 2 ski resorts. Pinging Narutolovehinata5 and evrik. Yoninah (talk) 22:50, 28 December 2019 (UTC)
  • It is a railway that primarily serves the ski areas. It connects with the rest of the system at the Cercedilla Station. It is part of Madrid's Cercanías commuter rail network. I changed the reference in the hook. I'm not sure what we are missing here. --evrik (talk) 00:50, 29 December 2019 (UTC)
  • Thanks, that works. Restoring tick per your review. Yoninah (talk) 00:53, 29 December 2019 (UTC)
