"Burmese soil" edit war

Kevin, I've opened a discussion on the List of White Collar episodes page in order to get this edit war over the use of the term Burmese soil under control. I've also tagged the IP editor's page for 3RR, which should have been done since he/she has 5 reverts. But I'll be honest, the whole notion of Peter and Neal being on Burmese territory, much less the need to use the term Burmese soil seems a bit silly to be squabbling over given the overall vagueness of the edit summary, and thereby, the lack of any information as to why their being there is significant. Edit summaries should be 100-250 works, and I'm hoping that the outcome of this will be a better written edit summary, not another TV Guide teaser. --Drmargi (talk) 20:13, 9 March 2012 (UTC)

Television episode and season articles badly needed

Since you supported the template reformat, you might want to be involved in filling in some of the most important articles. See Wikipedia_talk:WikiProject_Television#Acclaimed_Writing_and_Directing_Award-winning_episodes_update.--TonyTheTiger (T/C/BIO/WP:CHICAGO/WP:FOUR) 23:42, 11 March 2012 (UTC)

In Plain Sight - Composers

When I added composers to the In Plain Sight wiki page, you noted that it was not exceptionably notable, and improperly sourced (IMDb not reliable)).

Can you tell me why this information isn't notable enough to be included on the page? Also, what other sources other than IMDB are composers to use? That seems to be the industry standard for credits in the film production world. Any clarification would be great. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Chrisshon (talkcontribs) 23:42, 14 March 2012 (UTC)

Kevin I know what i'm doing with the ICarly page, it's true information. Maybe you have not heard that season 2 has 45 episodes and you may think it's the wrong information but it is the right information. So please stop sending me messages telling me to stop editing the iCarly page when i'm putting the right information.

Kevin, I have a question. If season 2 & 3 are 1 season and season 4 & 5 are season and season 6 aired March 24, 2012, is there really 4 seasons? Thomasfan5044 (talk) 21:53, 27 March 2012 (UTC)

Kevin, I really am impressed with your work on your page. Keep up the great work! Thomasfan5044 (talk) 14:14, 1 April 2012 (UTC)

Spoilers

Do you know why they don't? They should at least be marked. Wikipedia has ruined several shows for me by allowing people to plaster plot spoilers all over the show. Psych included. As well as The Shield and other shows I can't bring to mind — Preceding unsigned comment added by Maximumcoolness (talkcontribs) 21:45, 13 April 2012 (UTC)

(talk page stalker) Please review WP:SPOILER. This is an encyclopedia, not a fan site, and we don't mark spoilers. You have to take some personal responsibility for what you read, and exercise some self control when reading here; it's not our job to protect you from learning what you don't want to learn. --Drmargi (talk) 17:52, 14 April 2012 (UTC)

Not really sure whether to reply here or on my page kevin, so i'll write it here. I guess I can see the reasoning behind not caring about spoilers but it just seems like such a simple thing to do to put some kind of tag there. Ah well....I'll just not read about shows before I finish them. Although in some cases I may want to read about the show before I start watching.

Cheers — Preceding unsigned comment added by Maximumcoolness (talkcontribs) 21:53, 14 April 2012 (UTC)

Season 2 Template?

Why are you commenting away the "Season 2" in the template on Austin & Ally and Jessie? Other major networks (Such as Law & Order: SVU) have Season 14 listed but it hasn't started yet. What's wrong with having them? - Alec2011 (talk) 05:34, 12 April 2012 (UTC)

The SVU template shouldn't have had season 14 either. Convention is not to add the line to the table until there is something other than the season number to put in the boxes (which is why I left Good Luck Charlie alone). This is something I picked up while editing List of Burn Notice episodes a couple years ago. They had just renewed them for three more seasons and I added each line to the table, but was informed by another editor that we should wait until closer to the premiere date when more information became available (they're now between seasons 5 and 6, and 6 still hasn't been added to the table). I'm not sure exactly where it's written in policy or where a discussion took place, but I respect the user and assumed s/he was correct, as s/he was very helpful when I was starting out on Wikipedia. You may want to ask him/her to go into more detail. Sorry about the confusion. Kevinbrogers (talk) 05:45, 12 April 2012 (UTC)
Thanks for the information. By the way she is a female as stated on her page. - Alec2011 (talk) 05:52, 12 April 2012 (UTC)
I was just coming over to tell you I'd responded to his question. I also made some major changes to SVU (which may start a tussle with the fanboys and fangirls). SVU has not been renewed; Greenblatt was talking about it returning for the second half of S13 at the winter TCA's not announcing a renewal. Whoever posted that misread their sources. I've removed anything from both articles to suggest it was renewed.
Alec, are you clearer now? SVU probably had the extra row because no one had caught it. But when you have to fill every cell with TBA to have something to put in the cells, it's too soon for the new season to be added. Add it once a) the current season is over and b) you know at least the premiere date AND number of episodes ordered. --Drmargi (talk) 07:48, 12 April 2012 (UTC)
"Whoever posted" ~ would be me, and I apologise for that - I completely misread the source - I'm not terribly familiar with how American television works, and how they have breaks now and then. That being said, I would have appreciated that I be informed of the issue, perhaps on my talk page, to have avoided any further confusion. Barring that, thank you for fixing the problem! regards, -- MSTR (Chat Me!) 08:33, 12 April 2012 (UTC)
No apology needed; you made an honest error, although I'm more than a little surprised that one of the American editors didn't catch the mistake. And perhaps I could have let you know on your talk page, but that would have involved a hunt back through two months worth of edits on a very active article, and frankly, that's what edit summaries are for. Regardless, we've got it fixed now. --Drmargi (talk) 14:21, 12 April 2012 (UTC)
I knew that before but I feel it's "personal" preference. I don't really mind it as when you click on the season number it bring you to the Season section where there's more information available about the season. Not every "American" editor will comment out the "new season" in the table as I said before, it's personal preference. Kevin never did it before until you gave him the information, he obviously did not care before. I can probably guess he'll say "Well I agree now because it will just have TBA's in the table so it not's worth having." If not, I'm sorry for assuming Kevin. Since there's no written policy we can have it but it's frowned upon only because there's TBA's in the table. Depending on the pages there "may" be vandalism with episode #'s, premiere dates, etc. (most likely on Disney/Nick pages), but you cannot deny it's personal preference. You don't think they're necessary, I don't mind them. There is a use for them regardless of how they're there. - Alec2011 (talk) 02:16, 18 April 2012 (UTC)
