Dayton Philharmonic Orchestra[edit]

It might be an article you might want to write. 4.225.32.160 03:15, 14 April 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Yikes. I can start a page on the matter, but write, I am miserable at doing. Heck, I don't even know what a philharmonic is.--Kjmoran 01:36, 15 April 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Hey, you know you really didn't need to add the Dayton, Ohio to all those ones you did. I know, now I tell you. That only needs doing if it's not unique. Like, there's no other Traxler Mansion, so it doesn't need to have the town it's in after it. Believe me, there's enough of those kind of links to disambiguate without having to do ones that are OK as-is.

Please, though, don't get me wrong, I admire the effort. It's nice to see someone else who's almost as OCD as me about stuff like that, doncha know. :) Btw, you should consider joining WP:NRHP. There's not, like, a maximum or minimum daily requirement for admission, just interest. And you seem to have that. Plus we have the occasional useful tool, like the infobox. Hope, perchance, to see you there! --Ebyabe 18:29, 16 January 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Hello! Ya, that may have been over doing it. I shall revert for now, if you haven't done that already. It all stemmed from South Park and the cartoon. But that's the historic district I live in. Anywho, it's quite overwhelming to think about what can go on here. I was really looking at starting an infobox, but was excited to see one has already been made. I really do have a ton of questions, and when I have time, I try to browse at what other acceptable historic sites and structures have done for their pages. The answers are probably right infront of my face, and generally requires me to do a little more reading. I do want to start out with Dayton's historic sites, districts and structures. I just have to get out and start taking photos of these or make the map. Oop, back to work. Thanks for taking notice of my meddling and trying to help without screwing things up too bad. And I will take you up on your suggestion in joining the help. --Kjmoran 18:46, 16 January 2007 (UTC)[reply]
Nope, I've not reverted, I'll letcha. But I did fix a couple of minor city errors, so don't just undo. Like, there was an entry for the city of Perrysburg and. I picture some lonely guy in the basement of a gov't building entering all these, and sometimes just saying WTF. But it's a good idea to just go thru the blue links on the page to make sure they're going to the right place. See what I mean under U.S. Post Office and Howe Tavern on the Ohio NRHP list page.
Ah, another picture taker! I'm getting a digital camera (my first!) soon. I'd already resolved to get photos of all the NRHPs down here in Florida; this'll make them that much better. But I'm starting to find others around the state who are also photo-ing, so I don't actually have to do them all myself. Where's the fun in that?! :) Btw, I drove through (or nearly through) Montgomery County a couple of years ago, on a 2 week long road trip. That day was leaving Nashville, driving thru Louisville, Cincinatti, Columbus, then stopping near Newark. I have to get back up there one of these days, and see all the covered bridges and Mound Builders sites.
Back to work now, sorta. Later! --Ebyabe 19:12, 16 January 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Hi and thanks. I just poked around in your sandboxes, you've got some great things in the works. I stumbled onto the flood article quite by mistake, but now that I've done that bit of research, there are some related changes/expansions and perhaps a new article or two. When I get them drafted, I'll drop you a note, especially if they have a connection to your masterpieces in progress. CRKingston 01:58, 18 January 2007 (UTC)[reply]

I look forward to any and all your contributions. I'm not much of a writer. :) --Kjmoran 03:20, 18 January 2007 (UTC)[reply]
Let me get back to you on the flood items. My real job is very demanding right now. It might be mid-February, but I will get back to you. CRKingston 02:15, 19 January 2007 (UTC)[reply]
No worries!--Kjmoran 02:21, 19 January 2007 (UTC)[reply]

I fixed the problem with the infobox at St. Anne's Hill, Dayton, Ohio. For some reason, the SVG file wasn't scaling properly at 288 pixels, like this: It shows up as blank (at least for me, in Firefox. Maybe IE works properly.) I tried it at 273 pixels and it worked fine. As a workaround, I scaled the SVG file down to 288 pixels and uploaded it to the Commons, and it appears correct now.

In summary, it doesn't look like you did anything wrong. --Elkman - (Elkspeak) 18:33, 23 January 2007 (UTC)[reply]

ARGHHH! Why does SVGs do this? Thanks!--Kjmoran 18:38, 23 January 2007 (UTC)[reply]

New NRHP Collaboration Division[edit]

Hey, saw you were a participant in the National Register of Historic Places WikiProject. I thought I would let you know that there is a new Collaboration Division up for the project. The goal of the division is to select an article or articles for improvement to Good article standard or higher. There is a simple nomination process, which you can check out on the division subpage, to make sure each candidate for collaboration has enough interested editors. This is a good way to get a lot of articles to a quality status quickly. Please consider participating. More details can be seen at the division subpage. IvoShandor 11:10, 10 March 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Hello, Kjmoran. An automated process has found and removed an image or media file tagged as nonfree media, and thus is being used under fair use that was in your userspace. The image (Image:HuffmanHDLogo.gif) was found at the following location: User:Kjmoran/Sandbox4. This image or media was attempted to be removed per criterion number 9 of our non-free content policy. The image or media was replaced with Image:NonFreeImageRemoved.svg , so your formatting of your userpage should be fine. Hello Kjmoran, an automated process has found an image or media file tagged as nonfree media, such as fair use. The image (Image:SouthParkDaytonOHLogo.gif) was found at the following location: User:Kjmoran/Sandbox10. This image or media will be removed per statement number 9 of our non-free content policy. The image or media will be replaced with Image:NonFreeImageRemoved.svg , so your formatting of your userpage should be fine. The image that was replaced will not be automatically deleted, but it could be deleted at a later date. Articles using the same image should not be affected by my edits. I ask you to please not re-add the image to your userpage and could consider finding a replacement image licensed under either the Creative Commons or GFDL license or released to the public domain. Thanks for your attention and cooperation. User:Gnome (Bot)-talk 19:28, 17 May 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Fair use rationale for Image:StAnnesHillHDlogo.gif[edit]

Thanks for uploading or contributing to Image:StAnnesHillHDlogo.gif. I notice the image page specifies that the image is being used under fair use but there is no explanation or rationale as to why its use in Wikipedia articles constitutes fair use. In addition to the boilerplate fair use template, you must also write out on the image description page a specific explanation or rationale for why using this image in each article is consistent with fair use. Suggestions on how to do so can be found here.

Please go to the image description page and edit it to include a fair use rationale. Using one of the templates at Wikipedia:Fair use rationale guideline is an easy way to insure that your image is in compliance with Wikipedia policy, but remember that you must complete the template. Do not simply insert a blank template on an image page.

If you have uploaded other fair use media, consider checking that you have specified the fair use rationale on those pages too. You can find a list of 'image' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "Image" from the dropdown box. Note that any fair use images uploaded after 4 May, 2006, and lacking such an explanation will be deleted one week after they have been uploaded, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you.BetacommandBot 07:47, 6 June 2007 (UTC)[reply]

My bot stubbed this article out, I noticed you had a link to it on your user page in case you wanted to check it out. pw 12:02, 23 July 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Also Aullwood House and Garden. pw 14:33, 23 July 2007 (UTC)[reply]
Cool. I assume this bot will be doing everything in Montgomery County and beyond? Looks like you're doing this alphabetically. If you generate the pages with the correct #, I'll try to hunt down and write a little more copy for them. Are we trying to figure out a page naming system that works here? Some rhyme or reason? Thanks!--Kjmoran 15:27, 23 July 2007 (UTC)[reply]
Currently it names the pages "Place name (City, State)" unless its marked as "in the vicinity of", then its "Place name (County, State)". If the place name itself starts with the city or count it is in, its just "Place Name". (kind of confusing, but seems to be working reasonably well so far, if you have suggestions feel free to put them forth). Also, if you look in the html comments of the pages there is some more information from the national park service database that I didn't actually make visible, it may help with some of it, but maybe not. It is running alphabetically in Ohio right now, but soon I'll probably just have it running nationwide, I just want to make sure its doing this correctly. pw 15:36, 23 July 2007 (UTC)[reply]
Outside of going to the Ohio stub category listing, did we consider breaking it down to a county stub? What is the best way to locate the structures/places without poking through the gargantuan Ohio stub after you generate every location? I guess I could look at what NRHP Project recommends. Did I miss something easier? Thanks!--Kjmoran 15:42, 23 July 2007 (UTC)[reply]
There isn't an ohio stub, but there is a Montgomery county template it uses that upmerges to the stub, see [1] and [2]. (the second one doesn't exist yet, but will whenever it hits the first one for it). So we could create the category / stub, but for right now I didn't because there aren't enough of them yet. pw 15:48, 23 July 2007 (UTC)[reply]
By the way, if you wwant I can specifically run it through Montgomery county before I do the others if you would like all of those articles sooner rather than later. :) pw 15:48, 23 July 2007 (UTC)[reply]
Awesome. Just do what you are doing. You'll outpace me anyways and don't about my county first. But this stub will allow me to find Montgomery County's places easier. I update my articles with your better formatting. This is great!--Kjmoran 16:01, 23 July 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Image:SouthParkDaytonOHLogo.gif[edit]

I have tagged Image:SouthParkDaytonOHLogo.gif as {{no rationale}}, because it does not provide a fair use rationale. If you believe the image to be acceptable for fair use according to Wikipedia policy, please provide a rationale explaining as much, in accordance with the fair use rationale guideline, on the image description page. Some examples can be found at Wikipedia:Use rationale examples. Please also consider using {{non-free fair use in|article name}} or one of the other tags listed at Wikipedia:Image copyright tags/Non-free. Thank you. File source problem with File:Dscf0183.jpg[edit]

Thank you for uploading File:Dscf0183.jpg. I noticed that the file's description page currently doesn't specify who created the content, so the copyright status is unclear. If you did not create this file yourself, you will need to specify the owner of the copyright. If you obtained it from a website, please add a link to the website from which it was taken, together with a brief restatement of that website's terms of use of its content. However, if the copyright holder is a party unaffiliated from the website's publisher, that copyright should also be acknowledged.

If you have uploaded other files, consider verifying that you have specified sources for those files as well. You can find a list of files you have created in your upload log. Unsourced and untagged images may be deleted one week after they have been tagged per Wikipedia's criteria for speedy deletion, F4. If the image is copyrighted and non-free, the image will be deleted 48 hours after 14:48, 25 December 2010 (UTC) per speedy deletion criterion F7. Big to do list: Dayton Motor Car Company Historic District[edit]

Hey, I like your User:Kjmoran#Big To Do List section, which mentions Dayton Motor Car Company Historic District, an article which i just created as a stub, as part of a campaign to produce starter articles on National Register of Historic Places-listed motor vehicles related places. I hit "what links here" and found my way to you. Hey, now is the time to add to this article! Your developments of any kind would be welcomed.
