Origin regarding "Bessie"?[edit]

Was there a reason for why Elizabeth Blount was known as "Bessie Blount"? Was this a common nickname or short form of Elizabeth during the time period? It seems like a personal nickname and not a given one if her popular saying by the people was "Bless 'ee, Bessie Blount". A3ec6fYprq (talk) 03:25, 11 April 2023 (UTC)[reply]

It is a common nickname for Elizabeth but "Bless 'ee, Bessie Blount" is presumably just their way of blessing her fertility and Elizabeth was too long or didn't fit the rhyme or rhythm. Uh Kay Shuh (talk) 03:03, 25 April 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Clarification in First Paragraph[edit]

Should the last sentence of the first paragraph clarify that Henry Fitzroy was the son of Elizabeth Blount? When I first read it I wasn't sure if Fitzroy was the son of Blount or a relative. It is clarified in the second paragraph when it is noted that Blount had an affair with Henry VIII, but it might be beneficial to make it crystal clear at the get-go. Blounts relationship with the king[edit]

I think the article could help from more information about how the king and Blounts relationship started. As well as, if possible, elaborate on Blounts relationship with her son with the king.
