Favor

Hi, Jonathan. I am near done with the Grey's Anatomy article, but a user has recommended that I a bit more information, if available. More specifically, he requested that if there is information available on whether or not Grey's Anatomy budged other networks before ABC, to include it. I have had difficulty finding any information on this, so if you can do some researching, and try to find out, that would be greatly appreciated. Thank you, TRLIJC19 (talk) 14:43, 8 June 2012 (UTC)

Definitely! I really believe that we can get the article to FA if we work together! Jonathan Harold Koszeghi (talk) 14:48, 8 June 2012 (UTC)
Thank you for the help, your work is always appreciated! TRLIJC19 (talk) 14:50, 8 June 2012 (UTC)
Hi! I was just wondering if you found any information on if they budged other networks yet? TRLIJC19 (talk) 13:08, 10 June 2012 (UTC)
I am so sorry to let you know that I have been continuously searching the internet for this kind of info, without success. Next, I am going to read all the interviews with Shonda Rhimes available online. It might take a while, but there is a chance she might have talked about this in interviews. Jonathan Harold Koszeghi (talk) 13:14, 10 June 2012 (UTC)
Yes, same here. I literally have gone through the whole internet, as well as a book written by Shonda on the creation of Grey's. There is no info I can find on it. Maybe, she never did budge other networks. Oh! I just thought of something. I remember reading something saying that ABC was looking for a medical drama, so that's why Shonda pitched to them. So, that means she probably never did budge other networks! In that case, if you can find info on that, it would be helpful to the conception section of the article. TRLIJC19 (talk) 13:19, 10 June 2012 (UTC)
Yes, that definitely helps. By the way, I've never heard of Shonda's book. I would be extremely grateful if you could send me a link of a site which sells it. Can't wait to read it. Jonathan Harold Koszeghi (talk) 13:23, 10 June 2012 (UTC)
Sure, just a second... TRLIJC19 (talk) 13:28, 10 June 2012 (UTC)
My mistake! The book is not written by Rhimes, but by Stacy McKee, a Grey's writer. If you're still interested, here's the link. This is another one. TRLIJC19 (talk) 13:33, 10 June 2012 (UTC)
Thanks a lot! Jonathan Harold Koszeghi (talk) 13:36, 10 June 2012 (UTC)

WikiProject Grey's Anatomy Weekly Newsletter

WikiProject Grey's Anatomy Newsletter: The Week of June 11, 2012

Hello members of WikiProject Grey's Anatomy! We are sending out our weekly newsletter with updates about the project and tasks. First, we would like to take this time to introduce several new members to the project: Creativity97, who joined in May, Sofffie7, Smileyglen66 and InfamousPrince, who all joined in June. It is nice to be able to have more members, so as to better help out the project. We have some new achievements and updates to be announced. First, we've received four new good articles (Grey's Anatomy seasons 1-4), which were developed by Jonathan Harold Koszeghi. Second, there are three new good article nominees, awaiting reviews (Meredith Grey, Owen Hunt, and Arizona Robbins), which TRLIJC19 decided to develop. Finally, Grey's Anatomy has been rewritten and majorly expanded to comply with the Featured Article Criteria. There are plans for the article to be nominated after a peer review is completed.

There are many things to be done for the project, in an attempt to exemplify its best work. Below is a list of tasks, and guidelines:

  • Character Pages
    • Ensure that each character page has this section order:
      • LEAD (and appropriate infobox)
      • Storylines
      • Development
        • Casting and creation
        • Characterization
      • Reception
      • References
      • External links
    • Shorten character storylines, using {{Cite episode}} to reference episodes, and break down season sub-section headers into just one section, "Storylines".
    • Model pages after Owen Hunt and Meredith Grey
  • Main Page (Grey's Anatomy)
    • Keep an eye out for vandalism, as that tends to occur at that page.
  • General
    • Many users and IPs have been erasing "surgical resident" from fifth year residents characters' occupations in infoboxes and at List of Grey's Anatomy characters. This should all be held off until more info is given on their current occupation in the season premiere. Revert if you see this, and if it's persistent; warn users.

Weekly Initiative!
The weekly initiative this week, is to pick an underdeveloped character article (one that isn't GA or better), and develop it, modeling off of Owen Hunt or Meredith Grey! Search the internet for character information, and try to get the article to GA quality (using MOS and Wikipedia guidelines), then nominate it. Barnstars will be awarded to users who develop their articles to GA quality! Also, use the templates listed at the project page to recruit new members, the more the merrier! Take part in these initiatives, have fun developing an article to GA, feel proud after the article you developed reaches GA, and be rewarded with barnstars! Help make a difference and get started!

Have fun and don't forget to cite everything you write! We hope to see several new good articles, and new members, soon!

Any luck?

Hello! Any luck on that researching? I've yet to find information on it. Also, I hope you return to regular editing soon; I haven't seen you around! TRLIJC19 (talk) 14:58, 14 June 2012 (UTC)

It's just that I have been really busy lately, but I can assure you that I've definitely been doing research for the article. As I had told you, I began going through interviews with Shonda Rhimes, but the subject does not seem to occur in the interviews I have read. As for my return to regular editing, I have been around but I want to develop further the artiles for the first four seasons of Grey's before getting started with Grey's Anatomy (season 5). Jonathan Harold Koszeghi (talk) 15:28, 14 June 2012 (UTC)
Okay, thank you for the update. TRLIJC19 (talk) 15:38, 14 June 2012 (UTC)

WikiProject Grey's Anatomy Newsletter: The Week of June 18, 2012

Hello members of WikiProject Grey's Anatomy! We are sending out our weekly newsletter with updates about the project and tasks. We have some new achievements and updates to be announced, a repeated recognition of last week. First, Grey's Anatomy (season 3) has been developed to apparent FA quality by Jonathan Harold Koszeghi, and TRLIJC19 is in the process of developing Callie Torres to GA quality. We are still awaiting GA reviews for Meredith, Owen, and Arizona, as well as a Peer review for Grey's Anatomy, which will be completed soon. A minor change is the re-ordering of sections on Izzie Stevens and Erica Hahn, to comply with our guidelines. There are many things to be done for the project, in an attempt to exemplify its best work. Below is a list of tasks, and guidelines:

  • Character Pages
  • Main Page (Grey's Anatomy)
    • Keep an eye out for vandalism, as that tends to occur at that page.
  • General
    • Many users and IPs have been erasing "surgical resident" from fifth year residents characters' occupations in infoboxes and at List of Grey's Anatomy characters. This should all be held off until more info is given on their current occupation in the season premiere. Revert if you see this, and if it's persistent; warn users.
    • Some IPs/Users have been changing Lexie Grey's article as well as Callie Torres, going against MOS. Revert if you see this, and try to explain to the IP/User why this is wrong.

Weekly Initiative!
The weekly initiative this week, is an extension of last week, and it's to pick an underdeveloped character article (one that isn't GA or better), and develop it, modeling off of Owen Hunt or Meredith Grey! Search the internet for character information, and try to get the article to GA quality (using MOS and Wikipedia guidelines), then nominate it. I would like to thank you for all the work you've been doing at the season three article! I am truly impressed! It is getting closer to FA criteria, with every edit! Let me know if you need any help with it...TRLIJC19 (talk) 15:44, 19 June 2012 (UTC)

Quick question

Hi, I'm almost done with developing Lexie Grey—I found tons of info on characterization, but I can't find ANYTHING on reception. So, if you could do some quick researching and find reviews of the character, add them to her page. Thanks! TRLIJC19 (talk) 21:30, 19 June 2012 (UTC)

Yes, definitely. I'll get started right away. Jonathan Harold Koszeghi (talk) 07:57, 20 June 2012 (UTC)

Callie's pic

Hi, so I updated Callie Torres' picture. It's a good quality, season seven picture. I also added a sentence about the scrub coloring at the Grey's Anatomy page. Furthermore, I believe new promotional pictures will be released for season nine, due to the casting changes, so we should add those when they are released. TRLIJC19 (talk) 16:09, 20 June 2012 (UTC)

Great job! By the way, I wanted to share this with someone for a while. Wasn't it weird that no promotional pictures were released for the eighth season? Jonathan Harold Koszeghi (talk) 17:41, 20 June 2012 (UTC)
Yes! I had always thought that. I believe the reason why is because if you look back on every season, the cast changed by at least one member. (Season 1-2: Addition of Addison) (Season 2-3: Addition of Callie/Mark) (Season 3-4: Addition of Hahn) (Season 4-5: Hunt) (Season 5-6: Lost George) (Season 6-7: Gained Kepner/Avery, Lost Izzie). There was no cast changed for season 8, which is most likely the reason that promo pics were not released; they would mimic season 7. TRLIJC19 (talk) 18:39, 20 June 2012 (UTC)
I thought about that, too. Lol, I remember surfing the internet all day long last summer, waiting for those pics to be released. However, it is most likely that the new pictures for season 9 (if they are to be released) will be released in late august/early september. Jonathan Harold Koszeghi (talk) 18:43, 20 June 2012 (UTC)
I did the same thing! I had been waiting to add them to the WP articles last summer. Every year, I await the promo pics, so I can add them to the character articles, and I was annoyed that they never came out last year. I remember Shonda Rhimes tweeting last that they would be out in August, and then clarifying that they would not be publicly released. TRLIJC19 (talk) 18:49, 20 June 2012 (UTC)
Did Shonda Rhimes' tweet refer to the promo pics for season 8? Jonathan Harold Koszeghi (talk) 18:53, 20 June 2012 (UTC)
Yes. TRLIJC19 (talk) 18:54, 20 June 2012 (UTC)
That's a relief! I got worried, I thought you were talking about the ones for season 9! Jonathan Harold Koszeghi (talk) 18:55, 20 June 2012 (UTC)

Question

Hi, Jonathan. At the Grey's Anatomy peer review, it was recommended that I relocate the "Private Practice and "Musical" sections, away from 'conception' and into their own section. However, I can't think of what to call this section. I had pitched "Related media" but that would not be right, since the musical episode was still a part of Grey's. I am desperate for ideas—do you have any? Let me know, TRLIJC19 (talk) 17:58, 21 June 2012 (UTC)

Wouldn't it be okay if you left the musical episode in "Conception" and move Private Practice to "Spin-off" or "Spin-off launch"? Jonathan Harold Koszeghi (talk) 18:05, 21 June 2012 (UTC)
No, apparently not. Largely because if you're reading the entire article, it is odd to start learning about the musical episode, when you don't even know about the characters. So the spinoff and musical should be in their own section. Do you have any ideas on a title for that section? TRLIJC19 (talk) 18:08, 21 June 2012 (UTC)
How about "Further development"? It know it sound ambigous but it definitely is difficult to put both these subsections into a section dedicated just to them. Can't you ask the reviewer for a suggestion? Jonathan Harold Koszeghi (talk) 18:12, 21 June 2012 (UTC)
He seems to be short of ideas as well, unfortunately. I would use "further development"; it's just another section is "further reading", and it sounds repetitive. TRLIJC19 (talk) 20:35, 21 June 2012 (UTC)
Then change "further reading" with "See also". Jonathan Harold Koszeghi (talk) 05:44, 22 June 2012 (UTC)
FAC wants everything very standardized, and I think it's colloquial to title the "further reading" section as just that. Is there a synonym for "further" that I could use before development? Lol. TRLIJC19 (talk) 06:05, 22 June 2012 (UTC)
Why not just write "Development"? Or write "further developmet" and see whether the reviewer is against it. Jonathan Harold Koszeghi (talk) 07:58, 22 June 2012 (UTC)

Opinion

Hi! So I used "further development" at Grey's Anatomy, and was looking for your opinion on how it looks now. TRLIJC19 (talk) 14:37, 22 June 2012 (UTC)

I'm so glad you decided to use my idea. :) It definitely looks good, it's a helpful edit for the article. Well done on work you've done to it. Jonathan Harold Koszeghi (talk) 16:38, 22 June 2012 (UTC)

Clarification

Hi again, Jonathan. About the peer review for season 3—currently, I am overloaded with work for Grey's Anatomy, as it is on the brink of being taken to FAC (just some minor adjustments to be made), as well as trying to promote all character articles to GA (doing good), and I am also busy offline. That being said, I do not think that at the time I can give a full PR to season 3, as I had intended. However, I can leave comments from time to time on your talk page. Furthermore, once Grey's Anatomy is done at FAC, I will have plenty of time to review the article in full.

Here are some things I noticed at first glance:

  • File:Grey's Anatomy Season Three DVD Cover.png needs a much better fair-use rationale to be allowed in the article. See File:GreysAnatomysSeason1Cast.jpg for a good example of a complete rationale.
I'm a bit at a a loss. Could you help me out? Jonathan Harold Koszeghi (talk) 07:45, 23 June 2012 (UTC)
I expanded the rationale for you: File:Grey's Anatomy Season Three DVD Cover.png#Summary
  • Per WP:MOS, once you give a person/character's full name, their last name should be used to refer to them for the rest of the article. (besides the lead). That being said, this article does not follow that and is going to need an overhaul to shift from using first names to last.
I don't think I understand. Should I write (for example) Grey instead of Meredith Grey everywhere in the article, besides in the lead? Jonathan Harold Koszeghi (talk) 07:45, 23 June 2012 (UTC)
Let me explain: In the lead, link her as Meredith Grey (Ellen Pompeo). Then the first time you mention her in the regular article, link Meredith Grey (Ellen Pompeo) again. Then, any other time you mention her, just refer to her as Grey or Pompeo (depending on whether you're talking about character or actress). Same goes with other characters. TRLIJC19 (talk) 12:45, 23 June 2012 (UTC)
Even in the episode summaries? It would be kind of weird to say "Yang moved in with Grey and Stevens". Jonathan Harold Koszeghi (talk) 12:49, 23 June 2012 (UTC)
Yes, that's how it goes. TRLIJC19 (talk) 12:50, 23 June 2012 (UTC)
But what if I want to talk about both Meredith and Lexie in a sentence? Jonathan Harold Koszeghi (talk) 18:45, 23 June 2012 (UTC)
Meredith and Lexie are the exceptions, because both their last names are the same. I was going to mention this, but since this is season three, I did not think Lexie would be mentioned more than once. TRLIJC19 (talk) 18:55, 23 June 2012 (UTC)
Yes, I have realized since I send the last message. Thank you! Jonathan Harold Koszeghi (talk) 18:57, 23 June 2012 (UTC)
It was the only site that I found to have the DVD release dates, but I'll definitely try to find a reliable one. Jonathan Harold Koszeghi (talk) 07:45, 23 June 2012 (UTC)
  • The quote in the quote box at critical reception seems to show no relevance to the show.
Done Jonathan Harold Koszeghi (talk) 07:45, 23 June 2012 (UTC)
  • The lead could use some more copyediting, and watch the wikilinking: ie. Shondaland production company should not be linked, as it just links to Rhimes and she is already linked.
Done Jonathan Harold Koszeghi (talk) 07:45, 23 June 2012 (UTC)

Sorry I can't do a full review at the moment, TRLIJC19 (talk) 00:57, 23 June 2012 (UTC)

WikiProject Grey's Anatomy Weekly Newsletter: June 25, 2012

WikiProject Grey's Anatomy Newsletter: The Week of June 25, 2012

Hello members of WikiProject Grey's Anatomy! We are sending out our weekly newsletter with updates about the project and tasks. We have some new achievements and updates to be announced! First, "Song Beneath the Song" is now a good article, and it was promoted by TRLIJC19. Second, Lexie Grey is currently being GA reviewed, and it was developed by TRLIJC19 and Sofffie7. Also, Portal:Grey's Anatomy has been created, and members are encouraged to maintain it. Still from last week, Meredith Grey, Arizona Robbins, Owen Hunt, and Callie Torres, (developed by TRLIJC19) are awaiting GA reviews. Grey's Anatomy (season 3) has been developed to near FA quality by Jonathan Harold Koszeghi, and is awaiting a peer review. Finally, Grey's Anatomy, developed by TRLIJC19, is on the brinks of moving to FAC, and is awaiting a final copy edit.

The weekly initiative this week, is to create an episode article, and develop it, modeling off of Song Beneath the Song! Search the internet for creation and reception information (a lot is given at the Grey Matter writers' blog), and try to get the article to GA quality (using MOS and Wikipedia guidelines), then nominate it. Try to go in an episodic chronological order (start at S1E1, and move further). Furthermore, if you notice that any user has participated in any weekly initiative and was not rewarded, give them a barnstar ASAP!

Have fun and don't forget to cite everything you write! We hope to see several new episodic good articles, and new members, soon!

--The community of WikiProject Grey's Anatomy (Written by TRLIJC19)

Read immediately

Jonathan, I noticed that you nominated Desperate HW season 2 for GA, and it was placed on hold last week. See Talk:Desperate Housewives (season 2)/GA1. If the issues are not fixed by today, it will be failed! It seems as though you forgot to fix the rest of the issues, and I do not want to see your article get failed, when the issues can be fixed so easily. It seems you worked hard on it, and I hope you can get it done, TRLIJC19 (talk) 16:15, 25 June 2012 (UTC)

Thank you so much! I completely forgot! I'll get to work. Tremendous thanks! Jonathan Harold Koszeghi (talk) 16:32, 25 June 2012 (UTC)
But couldn't I renominate it if it fails? I can't understand what the reviewer wants me to do, and I want to work on Grey's Anatomy (season 2). What do you say? Thanks again, Jonathan Harold Koszeghi (talk) 16:37, 25 June 2012 (UTC)
Post on his talk page. I wouldn't recommend letting it fail over such minuscule issues. It may take months for the nomination to be picked up again. But I do agree that Tonythetiger is a hard reviewer. I got him for Grey's Anatomy's original review, and the deficiencies he listed were confusing. TRLIJC19 (talk) 16:52, 25 June 2012 (UTC)
Is there any possibility he could "extend" the time for me to address the issues? Jonathan Harold Koszeghi (talk) 18:37, 25 June 2012 (UTC)
I doubt it. But if you need help, let me know ASAP, and I'll tackle some issues. TRLIJC19 (talk) 18:56, 25 June 2012 (UTC)
What does the reviewer mean by "The box set is currently needs to be preceded by {{asof}}" ? Jonathan Harold Koszeghi (talk) 19:07, 25 June 2012 (UTC)
 Done, I did it. TRLIJC19 (talk) 19:12, 25 June 2012 (UTC)
Thank you SO MUCH! Jonathan Harold Koszeghi (talk) 19:23, 25 June 2012 (UTC)
What does he mean by "In general, this section does well with 2005-06 awards but on calendar year awards, especially the GG and SAG it only includes the first of the two relevant calendar years."? Jonathan Harold Koszeghi (talk) 19:24, 25 June 2012 (UTC)
I read that over about five times, and have absolutely no idea. When all other issues are complete, post on his talk page that you're done with everything, except that, because you don't understand it. TRLIJC19 (talk) 19:25, 25 June 2012 (UTC)
I have addressed all the issues (besides that one). I can't find the words to thank you! I am so pleased to see that you care about my work! If it hadn't been for you, I would have definitely forgotten about the nomination. Thank you so much! I have tremendous respect for you! Thanking you a million times, Jonathan Harold Koszeghi (talk) 19:40, 25 June 2012 (UTC)
Haha, don't worry about it. How about a random acts of kindness barnstar? Lol, I'm just kidding—I wouldn't ask for a barnstar. Also, did you inform Tony the Tiger that you're done? Update: I am trying desperately to find a copyeditor for Grey's Anatomy. Apparently Rumiton didn't do enough (according to the Peer Review), and it's recommended that I find a user who has a FA that they copyedited. I asked User:HJ Mitchell, but he hasn't responded. I am getting so eager to take Grey's Anatomy to FAC. I'll keep you posted, and good job on Grey's Anatomy (season 3) and 2! TRLIJC19 (talk) 19:49, 25 June 2012 (UTC)

Comment

Hi, Jonathan. I just wanted to give my opinion on Tony the Tiger's comment at the Desperate Housewives S2 GA review. I certainly don't see how you were acting "hostile" in any way. Tony was recently blocked for false accusations of discrimination, so maybe he's doing that again in a different form. I don't know, but I wouldn't engage in an argument over it, because you don't want to end up being blocked. TRLIJC19 (talk) 15:19, 26 June 2012 (UTC)

Thank you for the advice. I won't engage in an argument over his calling me "hostile". Thanks. Jonathan Harold Koszeghi (talk) 15:23, 26 June 2012 (UTC)

I've reverted your edit to the article, as I do not want the quote box to be blue. TRLIJC19 (talk) 18:28, 27 June 2012 (UTC)

I'm sorry! I guess I should have had a better reason, other than "it looks good". Jonathan Harold Koszeghi (talk) 18:33, 27 June 2012 (UTC)
It's no problem! I just find the blue to be too "poppy". TRLIJC19 (talk) 18:37, 27 June 2012 (UTC)

Request

I have recently nominated Grey's Anatomy for A-class status. The requirements for it to pass are that two uninvolved editors support the nomination. I know you have been uninvolved, so I am requesting that you review the article. Further instructions are given at Talk:Grey's Anatomy/A-class nomination. I hope you can review, TRLIJC19 (talk) 21:32, 27 June 2012 (UTC)

Sure! Just tell me what I have to do. I'd be happy to! Jonathan Harold Koszeghi (talk) 16:15, 28 June 2012 (UTC)
Instructions are given at Talk:Grey's Anatomy/A-class nomination. TRLIJC19 (talk) 17:36, 28 June 2012 (UTC)
So, I just have to write "Support" or "Oppose"? Jonathan Harold Koszeghi (talk) 17:40, 28 June 2012 (UTC)
Yes, but if you oppose; give reasons. TRLIJC19 (talk) 17:42, 28 June 2012 (UTC)

Disambiguation link notification for June 28

Hi. When you recently edited Grey's Anatomy (season 2), you added a link pointing to the disambiguation page John Brace (check to confirm | fix with Dab solver). Such links are almost always unintended, since a disambiguation page is merely a list of "Did you mean..." article titles. Read the FAQ • Join us at the DPL WikiProject.

The article Desperate Housewives (season 3) you nominated as a good article has been placed on hold . The article is close to meeting the good article criteria, but there are some minor changes or clarifications needed to be addressed. If these are fixed within seven days, the article will pass, otherwise it will fail. See Talk:Desperate Housewives (season 3) for things which need to be addressed. I absolutely love the design you made for your to-do list! Would you mind creating mine like that, for June? I really hope you can, TRLIJC19 (talk) 18:01, 29 June 2012 (UTC)

Definitely! I'm really glad you like it. It's much clearer this way. I'll get started on designing yours. Jonathan Harold Koszeghi (talk) 18:04, 29 June 2012 (UTC)

Recommendation

Hi again, Jonathan. I would like to recommend that you archive your talk page. For an example, see my talk page. I am recommending this because every time I want to post on your talk page; I have to scroll through years of old discussions. If archived, only the current month's discussions would be on the talk page; and the rest on an archive page. I will gladly archive everything for you; in the same way mine is archived; just let me know. TRLIJC19 (talk) 22:05, 29 June 2012 (UTC)

I tried that a few times a month ago, but something went wrong. Could you archive it for me? Jonathan Harold Koszeghi (talk) 06:17, 30 June 2012 (UTC)
Sure! TRLIJC19 (talk) 06:25, 30 June 2012 (UTC)
