I recently removed a speedy delete tag that you had placed on Carter G. Woodson Middle School. I do not think that Carter G. Woodson Middle School fits the speedy deletion criterion R3 because it does not apply to articles and stubs that have been converted into redirects. If you wish, you may try using the full redirects for discussion (RfD) process instead. --Redrose64 🌹 (talk) 18:45, 15 March 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Saw that, and didn't notice that aspect of the policy. Appreciate the note. --ZimZalaBim talk 18:47, 15 March 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Belarus[edit]

By writing people's names in Russian in articles about Belarus, you are acting as if there is no such language as Belarusian.

We do not have to write in Russian just because government officials introduce themselves with Russian names, not Belarusian. For example, the fact that Łukašenka calls himself Lukashenko does not change that he is Belarusian and therefore his name is Łukašenka.

If we write "Aleksandr Lukashenko" instead of "Aliaksandar Łukašenka", should we write "Vladimir Zelensky" instead of "Volodymyr Zelenskyy"?? 81.215.233.216 (talk) 16:13, 5 April 2024 (UTC)[reply]

You should make your argument on the relevant article's talk page. --ZimZalaBim talk 16:43, 5 April 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Response to sneezing[edit]

Hope you're having a good day. You edited Response to sneezing recently with the comment " trying to remove aggregious unsourced commentary/original research". One part of that was the Icelandic one. Where I did leave a source, the Visindavefur citation which is an article by Professor Guðrún Kvaran at the Institute for Icelandic Studies. In that article, it starts with "Fyrr á tímum" or "In earlier times" which applies to the entire act of using "Guð hjálpi þér" and then especially the 2 other following sentences.

I'm just wondering how I could have cited that better or set up the sentences better so they would not have been changed by you and called "aggregious" and "unsourced".

All the best. avalean (talk) 21:05, 16 April 2024 (UTC)[reply]

If I was overzealous and there was a properly sourced inclusion removed, feel free to put it back. --ZimZalaBim talk 21:07, 16 April 2024 (UTC)[reply]
It's ok. It's also about me trying to learn more. I'll fix it later on since it's not a very important change. avalean (talk) 21:19, 16 April 2024 (UTC)[reply]

The Influential Books Game, Ross Douthat[edit]

You reverted my edit to Douthat's page, where I added a list of books he says influenced him ("The Influential Books Game", Ross Douthaut, New York Times.) You called my edit "irrelevant here." I disagree; what could be more relevant to the life of a writer than the books which influenced them? I think it's a valuable edit.

No interest in starting an edit war; I just think it's very much worth noting the works someone cited as formative, especially for a writer who often writes about literature, as Douthat does. I welcome your thoughts on the matter. Charlie Faust (talk) 17:12, 7 May 2024 (UTC)[reply]

What page and what edit? --ZimZalaBim talk 19:01, 7 May 2024 (UTC)[reply]
What I said; I added an article by Ross Douthat, "The Influential Books Game", New York Times to Douthat's page, and you nixed it, calling it "irrelevant". I disagree, as a writer's formative works are very much worth noting, especially when a writer writes about literature, as Douthat often does. Charlie Faust (talk) 00:04, 8 May 2024 (UTC)[reply]
What I removed was an unnecessary comment about whether his diagnosis is "unrecognized by mainstream medicine". That might be something worth covering in chronic Lyme disease, but isn't essential to his biography. I did not remove any list of books; that appears to have been someone else. --ZimZalaBim talk 14:36, 8 May 2024 (UTC)[reply]
Ok, my bad. Charlie Faust (talk) 02:47, 9 May 2024 (UTC)[reply]
