Untitled[edit]

This list does not seem to include Cubbit cars which were made in Aylesbury. 89.195.9.25 (talk) 08:44, 12 August 2010 (UTC)[reply]

This page also does not include Carbodies or London Taxi International both of Coventry. They are the manufacturers who took over the manufacture of the Classic London Black Cab after Austin got out of the business. They made the FX-4 Fairway, then the TX-1, Tx-2 and TX-4 models that replaced the FX-4 —Preceding unsigned comment added by 70.79.186.204 (talk) 04:44, 23 October 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Aticle Heading[edit]

Should this not be "..manufacturers IN the United Kingdom" as many listed are not "OF" the UK? Ripov (talk) 16:59, 7 April 2015 (UTC)[reply]

If a company listed isn't manufacturing cars in the UK, then remove it; though from a quick glance it looks in pretty good shape to me. Warren (talk) 17:02, 7 April 2015 (UTC)[reply]

Manufacturers or marques?[edit]

The list currently confuses manufacturers with marques. For instance, Land Rover is no longer a manufacturer, but is one of the marques of the manufacturer Jaguar Land Rover. Similarly, there has never been a manufacturer called Mini, that was a marque of the manufacturer BMC, then of British Leyland, then of Rover Group, and now of BMW. Should this be a list of manufacturers, marques, or both? I'd favour just of marques. -- DeFacto (talk). 20:08, 4 October 2018 (UTC)[reply]

This edit today is an example; do we list Land Rover as the marque which was first used in 1948 and continues to be used today, or as the company which was founded by British Leyland to manufacture its Land Rover vehicles in 1978 and which was superseded in that role by Jaguar Land Rover at the end of 2012? -- DeFacto (talk). 17:44, 10 October 2018 (UTC)[reply]

Vital Spark Group Ltd[edit]

Does anybody know about this company, does it produce cars, or is it only a started project?

Found it: https://www.vital-spark.io/
It is no car manufacturer. It is a converter to electrical vehicles. Somewhere makes promotion for its own company. I commented it out.
The entry was made by Gwhite063 (see below)

Another link leads to https://www.sebringinternational.co.uk/ , which is owned by Vital Spark Not much can be read at this website, but it seems it will produce
cars in 2022, so maybe the entry
of Vital Spark was only wrong and should be Sebring International.--Ovaron (talk) 00:58, 11 December 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Current Manufacturers[edit]

It is not really clear, how manufacturer is defined for this list.

So I don't understand the listing of some companies:

Atlanta Motors: Proposed to build ten cars a year, but never built one.

Elemental Cars: If I am right, they never built one car (except prototypes)

Eagle E-Types: a restorer and converter of cars, but builds no new cars.

Lister: Is a tuner, no manufacturer (the times of Lister Storm are long time gone and this was an other company)

TR-Supercars: Only built two cars

The Perrin Cars wiki tells: "Perrinn has made three cars thus far, two of which have been purchased by a team whose identity is as yet unknown". But this deal seems has never been done, it was only a plan. It is not clear, if the two cars really has been built.

Please, could someone tell me what you mean with "manufacturer" for this list. --Ovaron (talk) 02:45, 19 June 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Owners[edit]

Why we need Owners of the manufacturers in this list? And why they are specified with some company constructs only exists on paper? The real owner of Vauxhall is not Vauxhall, it is Stellantis!--Ovaron (talk) 11:34, 22 November 2022 (UTC)[reply]
