Angus, I am insulted that you think I swiped the article I wrote from some other work. The words are all my own, and an expansion on a simple and single entry in the BRE reference I cited (correctly) which, for copyright reasons, I obviously cannot send to you as evidence.

Nonetheless, I take the STANDARD advice that the article needs to be neutral and not written as my professional opinion on these house types.

The edited version will be resubmitted for review.

Hi AngusWOOF, can you re-review Draft:OctoPrint? There are an excessive number of refs now, some are a little shameful for a mini-article but there's a lot of fodder for improvement, and it should be sufficient to meet GNG. tedder (talk) 03:35, 23 February 2019 (UTC)

  • tedder, excessive citations should be trimmed down or grouped if they support the same statement. There shouldn't be so many that it clutters the article. WP:Citation overkill. Articles from non-notable blogs about 3d printing should probably not be cited unless they present some new information. Please identify the sources that you think will meet WP:GNG, that is, they are secondary reliable sources independent of the subject. You need at least 2 to satisfy the "multiple sources" If all the article does is mention "I run Raspberry Pi with OctoPrint", then that is a passing mention, and should not be included. Yep, I know what you mean. To me, the only place with "ref overkill" is on the security flaws, and those are directionally different- the coverage from Internet Storm Center is much closer to being a primary source, while Gizmodo and The Register are certainly covering it from 'secondary'. But I tend to over-reference when writing articles, see South Park Blocks as an example. For sources that are best for GNG, those just mentioned, plus the multiple references on Hackaday, ZDNet, Electronics Weekly, Linux Journal should be sufficient. After the article goes out of draft space I'll move the "further reading" entries to the talk page as "future sources". tedder (talk) 19:05, 23 February 2019 (UTC)

Disappointed

Hi AngusWOOF, with thanks for looking over my article “Draft:Alliance School Kermanshah”. I have to say yes I am disappointed to see it remain in draft. I think it has got enough sources where, just like this one, I also translated” Alliance School in Tehran” from Wikipedia Farsi. The theme of my articles is history and not schools. These were the first Jewish schools in Iran which belong to more than 100 years ago and probably don’t exist now. And K8 or . . . does not fit in Iran’s school system of those days. This is, of course, the second time I am disappointed. Last time an editor did not give me a chance to click the publish and that is how it got into draft. At that time, I discussed that in Teahouse. I have put in it as much sources I could find and I appreciate if you could help me with this. Ernest Walker Simons article declined again

Please point me in the correct direction. I corrected the redacted portions pointed out to me earlier today by another editor. This site is a bit cryptic to me. Everything that was supposedly in copyright violation earlier today has now be put back in my own words, in a non-similar fashion, with citations to the works I had quoted previously. I am fully confident that all the information is correct as I know him personally and I am also his manager. What could I do better to get this article verified. There are no pages online displaying his DOB etc. There is another artist who got his Wiki approved recently called 'Yizzy', and the pages were quite similar hence my confusion.

Vivian0314 the ones that are company profiles or convention speaker / panel profiles would be considered primary or self-published sources, so you would need something else instead of those. About the declining of Draft:Atari Flashback Classics

The comment regarding why the page was declined has to do with not having enough WP:VG/RS 'reviews' on the package. I am not sure how to interpret this comment, whether it be reviews (as in reception and rating scores) or just information in general. Could you clear this up for me? That would be most helpful. I Need Explanation

I was wondering about and questioning the fact that the article "Vietnamese name" says that a "middle" (and hence, MIDDLE) name does not exist [at all] in Japan. What about the fictional character Kennosuke Tokisada Ouma in the Kuromukuro series??? Yes, his Japanese name is Ouma Kennosuke Tokisada, not Ouma Tokisada Kennosuke. But couldn't back then in Japan at that period Japanese people just had "pseudo" "middle" name? Like a "pseudo middle" kind of name? Just a different direction. Even though his English name is Kennosuke Tokisada Ouma, could the latter name just be a mistranslated name?

It confuses me. Please unconfuse me. Please? It just makes poor logic and I know, even though I am a Westerner myself, some Westerners just mistranslate a lot of Asian names and words, especially the East Asian languages, even deeper into the "Eastern" World; less understandable than South Asian countries, perhaps. Japan, Vietnam, China, and North and South Korea are in East Asia, not South Asia, North Asia *OR WEST Asian!*. I don't want to be barbaric, but people need to tab into things deeper before they assume what a correct translation is? Frankly, I believe, myself, personally, that if Japanese people who create the characters can speak, understand, and read English, they themselves should show the correct name translation that is in the English language or any other languages.

Wake The Dead 09, I would follow WP:JATITLE if it's a Japanese name for a real person. But as you're asking about a manga/anime character, I would apply MOS:ANIME which says use the common name of the character as listed in the English manga (or anime). If the character is historical, they usually have an Eastern order (familyname givenname) but modern characters usually follow Western style for English name while retaining an Eastern order Japanese name. Rina Satō (佐藤 利奈 Satō Rina). Some Japanese artists even insist on retaining Eastern order for their English name as with Koda Kumi, but most fall under the Western convention. As Kuromukuro is a Netflix anime with an English website, I would use that: http://kuromukuro.com/en/chara.html which shows Kennosuke Tokisada Ouma. Is it different in the actual Netflix presentation? If so, then use the Netflix presented name. The Nihongo romanization is in the order of the Japanese characters: 青馬剣之介時貞 青馬 romanizes to Ouma or Aouma; 剣之介 romanizes to Kennosuke; 時貞 romanizes to Tokisada.
As for middle names, that depends on the person as well. Most traditional Japanese names don't have middle names or maiden names, they either take one or the other parent's as their family name. But when it comes to anime characters, it can vary. Some use a Western name convention with the dots like Evangeline Athanasia Katherine (Kitty) McDowell (エヴァンジェリン・アタナシア・キティ・マクダウェル Evanjerin Atanashia Kiti Makudaweru) or Negi Springfield ネギ・スプリングフィールド AngusWOOF (bark • sniff) 22:28, 25 February 2019 (UTC)

Thank you. By the way, "family name" and "given name" are each two words: there is no compound word called "familyname"; it is only "family name"; same with "givenname" being wrong/incorrect. Also, by the way again, the "dot" is called an "interpunct". :)

Wake The Dead 09, you again missed the point of the example. It is to show the order of the names and their spacing not to say that the phrase "familyname" is proper. Also, sometimes the Japanese names are written with a space between family name and given name – Rina Satō (佐藤 利奈 Satō Rina) – and sometimes they are not – Rina Satō (佐藤利奈 Satō Rina). Chinese names, Korean names, and Vietnamese names all follow different conventions, as well as Asian names in the United States, so don't cross them up. If you're trying to convert kanji to romaji and how to romanize diacritics then that's a different subject. Anyways, please don't bother Wikipedia editors with your own linguistic interpretations. You're right AngusWOOF. All other articles that I found were Interviews. Non Interview mentions for a Compound Archery Player in India is pretty rare! She became the no. 1 Compound Archery player (national champion) out of 1.5 billion people at just 15 years of age. And that was for the 1st time it had happened. Still there were no tall mentions in media. It would have been different if it had to do something related to cricket. That is the main reason such players need to be published. There's no money in the sport, no celebrity status fame (like Cricket in India), no mentions of achievements or the amount of hard work these players go through. The RefrigiWear website wasn't used as a reference - all references used were newspaper articles or magazine articles about the company or its products themselves. They are not online, but I can send you scans if needed. I don't understand your comment about needing sources outside the company website when the website wasn't cited at all. There are 7 references, including some from national publications like Field & Stream, for a relatively short article so I am not sure what else is needed reference wise.

Any guidance you could provide would be appreciated because it seems like the requirements were met and then the goalposts were moved.

The Draft:Visa requirements for Chinese citizens of China–Myanmar border areas is similar to Visa requirements for Chinese citizens of Macau in content. The only difference is the former holds the "People's Republic of China China–Myanmar Border Areas Exit and Entry Permit" while the latter holds "People's Republic of China Macao Special Administrative Region passport". They are both passport-like documents (you can check the screenshot of the former document here) and have different visa requirements. Is there anything especially unique about those border areas compared to Visa requirements for Chinese citizens? As far as I can see, this only applies to entry to Myanmar, so this can be covered by Visa requirements for Chinese citizens in the entry for Myanmar. AngusWOOF (bark • sniff) 03:49, 7 March 2019 (UTC)
The issue is that the CMBA Entry and Exit Permit is a passport document issued to residents of a specific region. Any country may have separate policy of Entry and Exit Permit holders. Right now, I am not sure whether Thailand has any special policy to those holders entering Thailand via the Shan State-Thailand land border, such as via Tachilek, but the locals seemed to travel quite freely (I am not a local there and can only get the official information from China). This is like, a mainland Chinese holder of ROC passport do not enjoy any of the visa free policy assigned to those Taiwanese, Penghu, Kinmen and Matsu holder of the ROC passport.

I dont know what to say... The Mainland Travel Permit for Hong Kong and Macao Residents is a domestic travel document, while the PRC CMBA Entry and Exit Permit is an international travel document. Their difference is essential.

  • Plus, there are certain similar documents which will allow a Chinese to travel in Myanmar. AFAIK for the converse trip for Burmese citizens there are at least two bilingual Burmese non-passport travel documents recognised by China. Also, the China-Myanmar border is full of rebel territories, some of those are coordinated between a local party of Myanmar and a local government under the acknowledgment of the Burmese and Chinese central government. De facto policies are changed sometimes on a daily basis. There's indeed too much information for a single travel document article or to be included into the main article. She should be evaluated as a spiritual/religious leader. Alisa Pomerantz-Boro is a member of the Jewish clergy, an ordained Cantor, and one of the first 14 woman to be ordained as such by the Conservative Movement of Judaism. She is only the 2nd woman ever to head the Cantors Assembly, the largest organization of Cantors in the World. Jewish Voices NJ is borderline, again she is incidental in coverage as the leader or representative of the group, but it doesn't dive into her career. Excellent point. As a spiritual leader, there are not career retrospective publications, nor many scholarly journals period. Many web-related sources are from PR materials provided to the publishers.   • The main source for the article was the Seattle Camera Club page on Wayne Albee. That site has recently been deleted, and exists only at archive.org. It was properly sourced and cited in the article.
  • Even though I used it as my source, I rewrote all the content. The only section that remained as it was in the original was the following:

Albee produced numerous photographs for Washington State publications, including three major series for The Town Crier: “The Rubaiyat,” December 13, 1924, pp. 17-25: “The Kings, an Interpretative Study of the Artist, a tribute to the poet Louise Imogen Guine, December 11, 1926, pp.17-22; and “Camera Studies by Wayne Albee,” December 14, 1929.

I did not rewrite this because it is just a listing of work by the artist. That does not seem to me to reasonably be copyrightable content, but if it is, it can easily be rephrased.

  • The page you listed as being copyright infringed is just copied from the original Seattle Camera Club page, and is specifically cited as such on that page where it is quoted.
  • There is no copyright notice on the original page.

Reeveskd, I would look at WP:ORG which is the notability criteria for schools. Elementary schools end up being redirects to the school district unless they have something unique that is notable, and that is significantly covered in independent sources. Cellemetry Review

Please take another look at this article. I have addressed the citation concern as follows:

The Wikipedia article submission contained a reference to a book by Thomas F. Evans [1] that has an entire chapter on Cellemetry. Another book that covers Cellemetry is “Wireless Crash Course” [2] I have added this to the Cellemetry article on Wikipedia. The book ‘the Comprehensive Guide to Wireless Technology’ has a short section on Cellemetry[3]. I included it in the article as well since it establishes a date when the network started operations. Another book that talks about Cellemetry is the guide to utility automation [4] Here is a link to an industry newsletter at the time [5] The reason I reference it is that it shows the extent of the coverage Cellemetry had achieved at the time. I did not include the link in the article. If you think it should be placed in there I can find a place. Also, Cellemetry is addressed in the ‘Wireless Data Handbook’ in section 4.4.2.1 [6] I did not include this reference in the Wikipedia article because the section is difficult to see / link and the book is $135. You can see the index of the book and if you search the book for “Cellemetry” you can see part of the section. Here is a SEC 10K [7]filed by Numerex (now a part of Sierra Wireless) that talks about Cellemerty. Please let me know if these are enough references. I think there's probably enough from those textbooks, but it needs to be a little more clear what is the company and what is the technology. Also you can rename it to just Cellemetry instead of CellemetrySM which makes it look like corporate literature trademarks. I'll throw in a stylization note. If you look at the diffs, I moved the pets/helpers from their own sections (which I deleted, along with trivia about the pets etc) to test if that would flow more logically, following the featured lists of cartoon characters which emphasize relationships/plot points instead of personality traits. Johnston was a key NASA employee who had an impact on the American manned spaceflight program over the span of twenty years until he retired. His name is listed on the NASA Distinguished Service Medal page, as are dozens of others of equal stature. Most of them DO have biography pages, which are no longer than what I created for Johnston. Since I was already doing research on my for another project, I thought I'd add a page for him.

My draft was turned down because "none of the bands Farley is involved with are notable at this time" and a lack of notable sources. I disagree based on the fact that he's been featured on The Tonight Show and played on NPR. Beyond that, he's legitimately the most prolific songwriter of all time, recording and releasing over twenty thousand songs over three hundred albums. The sources I referenced include Wired, Vice, and Medium. I also have an article on him posted on The Guardian, which is listed under reliable sources. @TownesVP: - the reviewer may be right that the individual doesn't pass standard musician notability, however there's an interesting case to be made that his prolific work or spotify work might qualify him under the general notability guideline for his newsworthiness.

I acknowledge that none of Matt Farley's bands are notable in and of themselves, but after Nosebagbear's comment, I looked into the qualifications for general notability and am interested in your response on that. I have articles about Matt Farley going back nearly a decade from The Boston Globe, Vulture, The Guardian, The A/V Club and also Vice and Wired, which I cited. He's also been on a lot of local news stations across the country as well as in NZ and Australia. He's been covered on NPR and featured on The Tonight Show. Could any of these contribute towards his general notability status? I don't mean to be confrontational, this is just the only article I've made and I spent a lot of time on it because I really do feel he meets all the requirements. I have removed the additional links/sources, as requested, and replaced with more valid sources where relevant.

  • The previously provided source to the subject's age: Williams' age is referred to in numerous of the sources I initially provided. I had thought the YouTube link (from a verified YouTube account), and/or the FamousBirthdays.com link, would be the most current and easy sources. (His age is quoted in several articles, however, they are provided as his current age at that time, so one would have to calculate/approximate his current age based on the article's timestamp.)
  • As for the other "pedia" site: I have removed that link. The information shown there was also visible in the other sources I had provided (I was attempting to provide more source points).

I had thought that minor details such as "the subject's age" would be inconsequential towards having the entire submission declined (as it is only meant "bonus" info, and not the subject of the article). I do hope that after these new adjustments, the submission now meets Wikipedia standards for approval.

The other ones you listed are either random blogs or company press releases. Can you find other news articles that detail his career? I understand where you are coming from with your rejection but that guy lived 4500 years ago or so. The amount of data available is rightly scarcer under the circumstances, but he still got a place in the Giza cemetery. The intent was to document most of those persons who were the highest layer of the Egyptian society of their time to produce a whole mass of information which seemed relevant. A response to the refusal of Zack Snyder's Justice League cut page

This page is separated from the main Justice League (film) page for several reasons:

- The main Justice League page is protected.

- This is an intial page, and it's planned to be expanded in the future, since there's alot of ongoing information about the cut; it's history and confirmed differences from the theatrical cut, for example.

-The search for Zack Snyder's cut of Justice League is trending, since it's confirmed by the director himself, therefore, there's a potential release for this cut in the future.

-The cut is speculated to be completely different movie from the theatrical cut - similar to Richard Donner cut of Superman II, which has it's own page on Wikipedia - for several reasons: -The cut uses different soundtrack, visual effects and tone (similar to those seen in first Justice League trailer, before the departure of Zack Snyder). -Several scenes are completely reshooted by director Joss Whedon (rather than Zack Snyder). -The cut has different length. -Several characters made an appearance in the cut, but did not appear in the theatrical cut (most notably: Darksied), additionally, the cut uses completely different design for the main vilain Steppenwolf.

Initial D Wiki Citations

It's kinda hard to write episode names or volumes as sources for citations, as Funimation hasn't licensed Fifth or Final Stage (both are licensed to Avex Entertainment Inc.), and there are no Youtube videos that I'm able to link it to. I am a little new to Wikipedia editing now that it's been so long since I've edited anything(I had a previous account before this one a long, long time ago), so I'm unaware if there is a way to cite it without having to cite a Youtube video or other online video type, since Avex Entertainment blocks all videos including clips of Fifth or Final Stage. I also have no volumes of Initial D manga, so I'm unable to cite that either unless I can find what volumes certain scenes are from.

Dan, the award page is a Wikipedia page so it can't be used as a reference per WP:CIRCULAR. The rest of the material you cited come from Stallman himself which is either WP:SELFPUBLISH or WP:PRIMARY. Thank you for reviewing my submission so quickly. I'm having a tough time figuring out what it will take to get Draft:Audiodog to pass muster with regard to references and/or album reviews. I've modeled my article after one about another album by the same artist (Transformer (Bruce Kulick album)), and at this point mine parallels the example in most ways (including references and such); StraussInTheHouse seemed to think the beefing up I had done to my draft after he first declined it would allow it to pass upon resubmission (please see User talk:StraussInTheHouse#Draft:Audiodog for additional details).

Your comment was, "Need more album reviews." Would it suffice to add and cite an excerpt from the review here, and/or add a reference to the rating here in the Professional Ratings box? Can you say whether the Transformer article has something mine lacks, or suffers from the same problem?

Lardofdorkness, it needs a paragraph section where it summarizes some of the major reviews by music journalists. Not just a corner rating box. Regarding allmusic you could write "Greg Prato of Allmusic said that (criticism detail)" Discogs is not a reliable source. You'll need more reviews. Lardofdorkness, you can also add the Greg Prato part where they compare songwriting styles with the other members as per [1] That it's being reported from a Kiss Encyclopedia book is helpful. Also, can you can also add a paragraph about the origins of the title being named after his dog Joe, per [2], I know it's a primary source but still useful for background information. Giantsarethebest, sfmayor.com is a primary source / press release, so it is connected to the subject. The other article is a secondary report on it, but attributes statements made about Lam from the mayor's statements and not from its own research, so it is echoing the press release. Help with new page

Sorry, this is my first time attempting to do anything on Wiki. I'm trying to create a page for the Police Department for which I work. I know LOTS of facts and I personally am the Historian for the department but it's difficult citing facts.

For example, I cite the City Clerk of Owasso as the citation for when my Police Department was officially formed. When I cite Owasso City Clerk, do I need to specifically write her name at the time? Or how else would I cite that person/position?

Also, I list many facts regarding changes through the decades. I make statements based on photographs I have of the decades, for example I make statements regarding uniform changes because I have pictures to back it up, but how do I cite picture that I have?

Lastly, I make statements on the page I'm trying to create because I was here for them, or personally interviewed the people that worked here at the time. How do I make a citation based on an interview of someone that was here at the time?

Owasso940, thanks for drafting the page. A lot of the details are coming from within your organization and would be better suited for writing up for your organization's website. Wikipedia needs sources that are independent of the subject to show notability, so consider outside media such as newspapers or local television websites. Paulo's many articles

Hi Angus! FYI, an AfC you declined a couple of weeks ago Draft:Paulo Victor Soares, which the author has re-submitted and is currently pending, is duplicative of an article we already have called Paulo Victor Costa Soares. The mainspace article (which was created after you declined the AfC) is at AfD, and the article's creator is currently blocked for creating too many unsourced BLPs and editing while logged out. Also note that the editor who is creating the draft also has another draft going of the same article, Draft:Paulo Victor, and has also !voted keep at the AfD of the mainspace article. I wasn't sure how to post a "heads up" to reviewers that these two drafts are duplicates, as I've never done anything in draftspace before, so I figured I'd give you the heads up. Levivich, If they're created by sock evaders, you can CSD them for that. I'll comment that they are duplicates of the one that's currently in AFD. I think they can end up being redirects to that article if it stays and they can be deleted if the AFD results in delete. Clarification

Hi AngusWOOF, thanks for reviewing the draft article Draft:FutureBrand. I would be really grateful for some clarification on the reasons for declining the submission if possible?

The draft article includes references from AdWeek and Fast Company (detailed articles on their American Airlines rebrand), The Wall Street Journal (article on their acquisition strategy) CNBC, Forbes and Fast Company (describing their research and findings) and Creative Review (full feature of their work rebranding NatWest).

Sorry to ask but given the status of these publications, the nature of the content in the articles, and the focus on the company in question, can you help me understand why in your opinion they don’t establish notability or show more than a passing mention?

Having looked at other pages in Category:Branding companies for reference, could you also help me understand why the following examples show notability more effectively than this draft?

RYANMICHAELMILLER, the main thing is that it should not read like a resume statement, but be more of a biographical description. It should also be supported by external references that are independent of the subject. If there are news articles that write up about him, use those, not the ones within his immediate research groups and communities. As it stands, it reads like it was copy-pasted from an academic profile, so of course it will contain a lot of resume-stuffing activities and positive things to say about the person.I suggest rewriting the career section completely and in somewhat chronological order. In (year), he worked at (place) where he studied (main topics). While there, he published several papers that were (recognition by the community). (further recognition). He also founded (organization) in (year). Have another paragraph on Try to explain briefly what topics he worked on and link those to other Wikipedia articles. Smallman1093, when I look up "Bradley Cooper politician" or "Bradley Cooper activist" I get mostly political stuff concerning the actor, unless I add in Missouri, then I get "student" as occupation [3] [4] and it doesn't seem that notable.
