Hello, Numberguy6! Thanks for reviewing my page! I see you've declined it because it's been flagged as a personal web page and an autobiography. That's a totally reasonable guess given my username! In fact, I am not Nikolas but rather his older sister. I am aware that this is a conflict of interest and that a personal connection to the subject warrants additional review, which, in the name of objectivity, I completely welcome! However, I wanted to ask if the personal page and autobiography issues are the only reasons the page has been declined. I believe Nikolas's accomplishments are notable enough to warrant a page, just like other young athletes such as Winter Vinecki and Jordan Romero have. My list of sources supports the media's view of his notability as well. Jackpocket Wikipedia Page

@Numberguy6 Wanted to thank you for reviewing the Jackpocket page I submitted a few months back and check back in with you on getting it approved for publishing. Before I make edits, I did want to disclose a conflict of interest that I did not initially share as I was unfamiliar with the Wikipedia terms, my apologies! I am an employee of Jackpocket, serving as the Director of Content (I have also been editing and creating pages for Wikipedia for the past year), and I have created a COI disclosure on my user page. I'd firstly like to thank Numberguy6 for the very prompt and helpful review of my draft article on DoITPoMS. I completely understand the issues about self-citation, self-promotion etc. In fact, I did try to enquire beforehand about whether it would be appropriate for me to submit an article about DoITPoMS, taking all of the circumstances into account, but I didn't receive a response. (It's certainly possible that I didn't submit it in the correct way and I'm not yet familiar with the various procedures and protocols that Wikipedia has adopted.)

There are nevertheless a couple of points that I'd like to make about the proposed article. Firstly, while I was the founder of DoITPoMS, and I've been involved ever since, I have never benefitted from DoITPoMS financially, commercially or even in terms of public reputation and indeed no individuals have a high profile on the site or in any publicity etc. I'd certainly be happy to remove any trace of self-publicising from the article - at present there is a paper cited in which I'm the first author, but I'd happily remove this. Secondly, the aims, and indeed the format and functioning, of DoITPoMS are very similar to that of Wikipedia. In fact, they were started at about the same time - around the turn of the century - and I've always been a strong admirer and supporter of Wiki, although I haven't tried to get directly involved until recently. Of course, the scope of DoITPoMS is much more limited than that of Wikipedia, but it's nevertheless a heavily-used resource (and, as I mentioned, there are many Wiki articles in which links or reference to DoITPoMS are included - I've never attempted to estimate the number, but it's certainly large). Indeed the final point I'd like to make is that many people have suggested, over a period of years, that DoITPoMS should have a Wiki page. Of course, there is information about the background and functioning of DoITPoMS on the site itself, but Wiki is (quite rightly!) regarded as the most reliable source of (compact) information about virtually any topic. I do appreciate that the criterion of notability is an important one, but I think that, in terms of the significance and usefulness of the resource, DoITPoMS does qualify, simply from the large number of people likely to be interested (and to potentially benefit from using it). Materials Science is, after all, a very important area of scientific and technological development.

There are, of course, issues related, not only to self-interest, but also to the independence and reliability of the information provided. However, most of the information going into this article is entirely factual and uncontentious. It's true that there have not been a lot of published papers specifically concerned with DoITPoMS, but there is a lot of online activity and information related to it. I could certainly provide some data relating to access levels. In any event, I would like to suggest that the article could be edited so as to address the concerns that have arisen from the first review. Of course, I'd be happy to do this, but it would be very helpful if some specific points could be identified that might increase the chances of a revised version being accepted. I do appreciate that the editors looking after Wiki must be very busy, but I'd certainly be grateful if time could be found to formulate a quick response.

Hi Numberguy6, I just wanted to let you know that I have added the autopatrolled user right to your account.
