The first (arcade) fighting game was Warrior 1979 (and before sport/boxing games (Interton VC4000), the first game (incl. fighting) with side-perspective was Swashbuckler (computer game) 1982. --90.187.110.84 08:50, 8 February 2007 (UTC)[reply]

No, I'm afraid the first side-perspective fighting game was Sega's Heavyweight Champ in 1976. Here's the link: http://www.klov.com/game_detail.php?letter=&game_id=8099 --65.95.120.15 18:35, 11 April 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Famicom version[edit]

I would just like to point out that Karate Champ WAS released for the Famicom in cartridge format. I played it back in 1990. I remember it being a horrible and slow-paced game. Anyway, it's also interesting to note that in the movie Bloodsport, the game was shown briefly. -AYBABTU —Preceding unsigned comment added by 202.164.182.166 (talk) 04:41, 27 May 2008 (UTC)[reply]
